WorkSafe BC has mandated that contractors and homeowners undertake a “Risk Assessment” prior to commencing work on a home that may contain hazardous material. The intent of the mandate is to identify, remove, and properly dispose of any hazardous material that will pose a health risk to you and your family, our employees, or the general public during and after the bathroom remodeling project. Not only will this make your home safer for you and your family, but it will provide you with third party documentation that the threat has been removed or is not existent in your property should you chose to sell.
Failing to perform the assessment may be putting the health and safety of your family at risk, and making you vulnerable to serious legal consequences for improperly handling and disposal of hazardous material.
